Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed grave concern over the ongoing war in the region during a telephone call with the Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The prime minister spoke with the Qatari leader on Wednesday evening and extended Eid ul-Fitr greetings. The Qatari emir reciprocated with greetings and conveyed his good wishes.
During the conversation, the prime minister voiced deep concern over the conflict in the region and condemned attacks against Qatar and other brotherly Gulf states. He expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives and offered prayers for the injured.
The prime minister assured Pakistan’s full solidarity and support during the difficult time.
In view of the prevailing situation, he commended Qatar’s exceptional restraint and apprised the Qatari emir of Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach and efforts for peace. He said Pakistan has consistently urged all parties to de-escalate tensions and resolve differences through dialogue and diplomacy.
The Qatari emir appreciated Pakistan’s sincere diplomatic efforts for regional peace. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days.
