The Meteorological Department has forecast widespread rain, thunderstorms, and hail across the country. Authorities have also warned of potential flooding in parts of Balochistan as the weather system intensifies.
Most parts of Pakistan are likely to remain cloudy, with rain and hail expected in several regions.
According to the Meteorological Department, upper areas, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and parts of Balochistan may receive rainfall.
Flood risk in Balochistan
The weather department has warned that rain in Balochistan could lead to flooding in local rivers and canals. Authorities have also cautioned about the possibility of flash flooding due to continuous rainfall in various parts of the province.
Rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain is expected in both upper and plain areas. Regions, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Buner, Kohistan, and Malakand, are likely to experience showers.
Rainfall is also forecast for Islamabad, Murree, Rawalpindi, as well as central and southern Punjab. These areas may experience thunderstorms and gusty winds along with intermittent showers.
Light rain in Sindh
In Sindh, light rain is expected at a few places in interior areas and coastal districts. The weather conditions are likely to remain mild compared to other parts of the country.
The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Karachi, with clouds expected to bring thunderstorms and strong winds. Hail may also occur at some locations in the city.
Officials said the ongoing weather system may continue intermittently until March 29. Residents are advised to remain cautious during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.
Karachi is currently experiencing partly cloudy and humid weather. The temperature has been recorded at 28 degrees Celsius, while humidity levels stand at 78%, according to the Meteorological Department.
