On the occasion of Eid, the nation commemorated its martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the country. This day serves as a reminder of their ultimate sacrifice, which allows citizens to celebrate Eid with their loved ones.
Families of the martyrs, including those of Lance Naik Abdul Manaf Shaheed, Zulfiqar Shaheed, Subedar Ali Asghar Shaheed, and Lance Naik Sabir Shaheed, expressed their remembrance and pride.
"Abdul Munaf's departure is sad, but it is also a source of pride," said the mother of Lance Naik Abdul Manaf Shaheed. His widow added, "He was martyred for the sake of his country; may Allah accept his martyrdom."
Reflecting on the loss, the widow of Lance Naik Abdul Manaf Shaheed stated, "This is our first Eid without Abdul Manaf, and I am very sad that he is not with us on this Eid." Despite the grief, she emphasized, "After my husband, now my son will serve the nation."
The brother of Zulfiqar Shaheed shared, "He was also my brother and friend; Shaheed lived a very good life."
Similarly, the son of Subedar Ali Asghar Shaheed remembered his father's absence, saying, "Father's presence and absence is always felt. Earlier, Eid used to be better than now because fathers used to be present in this Eid."
The widow of Lance Naik Sabir Shaheed highlighted the support from the Pakistan Army, "Pakistan Army supported us in every difficult hour; Shaheed had a lot of love for Pakistan Army."
She further stated, "My husband always used to say that he wanted to do something for the Pakistan Army and this country that would make the entire nation proud, and he has done it."
Widows of the martyrs recalled their husbands' devotion to their families and the country. The widow of Sepoy Kamran Rashid Shaheed stated, "My husband was martyred for the sake of his country, may Allah accept his martyrdom."
She also expressed pride in being the widow of a martyr, highlighting how her husband took care of the family and their needs, especially during Eid celebrations.
The widow of Lance Naik Abrar Hussain Shaheed echoed similar sentiments, noting his attentiveness to the family and how he ensured they never missed anything. Their son remembered how the Pakistan Army supported them after his father's martyrdom and expressed his intention to follow in his father's footsteps.
Lance Naik Ayaz Shaheed's family also shared their memories. His widow described him as a caring person who made their Eid celebrations special. His brother spoke of their close relationship and prayed for his martyrdom to be accepted by Allah.
Parents of Lieutenant Shahaab Hameed Bajwa, a fallen hero, reminisced about their son's sacrifice and legacy. Lieutenant Bajwa, who laid down his life in service to the nation, was remembered with profound respect and affection by his parents.
They recalled how Eid celebrations were once marked by his presence, and how they now pay tribute to him at his grave after Eid prayers.
Emphasizing the enduring significance of sacrifices made by martyrs for the nation, they conveyed a message urging remembrance and gratitude towards those who ensure peace and security.
Lance Naik Abdul Haleem, who embraced martyrdom, was recalled by his father as possessing exemplary moral character from childhood. He had harbored a deep desire to join the armed forces since an early age.
Expressing pride amidst sorrow, Haleem's father accepted his son's separation for the sake of nation and country. Similarly, the brother of Sepoy Abdul Rahman, another martyr, acknowledged the irreplaceable loss, yet expressed gratitude for Rahman's sacrifice in safeguarding the nation.
The sacrifices of these martyrs are a source of pride for the nation, and their memories continue to be honored, especially during festive occasions like Eid. The Pakistan Army's role in supporting the families of the martyrs has also been acknowledged by the bereaved families.
