Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdul Ati at the Foreign Office today, marking the start of important talks on regional peace, stability, and mutual cooperation.
The meeting comes amid Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized the importance of dialogue and collaboration in addressing regional challenges. The meeting with Dr. Abdul Ati focused on bilateral relations between Pakistan and Egypt, as well as strategies to promote broader regional stability.
According to reports, the discussions also touched upon Pakistan’s efforts to host consultations among key Muslim nations to reduce ongoing tensions.
Four-nation consultations underway
The Egyptian and Turkish foreign ministers arrived in Pakistan yesterday, while the Saudi foreign minister is expected in Islamabad later today. After their arrival, the four nations will hold high-level talks on issues including regional peace, security, and cooperation.
These consultations reflect Pakistan’s active diplomatic role in mediating regional disputes and fostering unity among Muslim countries during a period of heightened tensions.
During the meeting, both ministers reaffirmed the importance of strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and Egypt. They discussed avenues for enhancing economic, cultural, and political cooperation, while aligning on strategies to stabilize the broader Middle East region.
The Turkish foreign minister is scheduled to meet Ishaq Dar later today, followed by the Saudi foreign minister, completing the circle of four-nation consultations.
