Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Pakistan has expressed deep concern over recent Iranian attacks on Gulf countries, warning that the escalation threatens not only regional stability but global economic security.
Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki has issued a strong statement condemning recent Iranian attacks in the Gulf.
He warned that the situation could have far-reaching consequences beyond the region.
In a video statement, the Saudi ambassador said Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries are deeply worrying. He described the strikes as “unjustified aggression” against sovereign states that are not part of any conflict.
The ambassador emphasized that these attacks represent a clear violation of international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter. He said such actions undermine global norms and threaten peace and stability in the region.
Civilian lives lost, key infrastructure targeted
Expressing concern over the human cost, the envoy said the attacks have resulted in the loss of civilian lives. He noted that residential areas, airports, and other civilian installations were targeted, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
The ambassador warned that the spread of threats to the Strait of Hormuz is particularly alarming. He stressed that global economic stability and energy security are closely tied to this strategic waterway.
Global humanitarian issue
According to the Saudi envoy, the threat is no longer confined to the region. He said the escalating situation could turn into a global humanitarian issue, affecting people’s lives and their rights to stability and development worldwide.
