The Punjab government has taken strict action following a viral video showing doctors competing during a surgical operation at Lady Willingdon Hospital.
Postgraduate training for four doctors involved has been suspended, and hospital officials have been asked to respond within three days.
The Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education issued a formal notice to the Medical Superintendent (MS) and the Head of the Gynecology Department at Lady Willingdon Hospital, directing them to provide a report within three days regarding the incident.
Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique confirmed that although the video is old, strict measures will be taken against those responsible. He emphasized the importance of professionalism and patient safety in all medical procedures.
Investigation underway
Punjab Health Secretary Azmat Mahmood announced that a special committee has been formed to investigate the matter thoroughly. The panel will examine how the video was recorded, why it went viral, and ensure accountability for all individuals involved.

An application has also been filed by Advocate Jund Sattar Butt at Islampura Police Station, requesting registration of a case against the doctors featured in the video.
The Punjab government has suspended the postgraduate training of four doctors seen participating in the controversial competition during the gynecology operation. Authorities stated this suspension will remain in effect until the investigation is completed.
