The Pakistan Cricket Board has found fast bowler Naseem Shah guilty of violating multiple clauses of his central contract and imposed a fine of Rs20 million following a controversial post on X.
The action was taken following a controversial social media post, which prompted the board to issue a show-cause notice to the player on March 27. A three-member disciplinary committee later conducted a formal hearing before reaching its decision.
In addition to penalizing Naseem Shah, the PCB has also blacklisted his social media advisor, barring them from working with any player in the future. The board stated that the advisor’s role in the matter was deemed inappropriate and against professional standards.
According to the PCB, Naseem Shah’s actions breached contractual obligations, raising concerns over professionalism and discipline. The board reiterated its commitment to maintaining high professional standards and safeguarding the integrity of the game, emphasizing that strict action will be taken against any violations.
