Former Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen has said that Naseem Shah’s statement on X was a social media blunder and should be taken as such.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, he said that players’ social media accounts are often managed by handlers, as cricketers do not have the time to run them, adding that posts even appear during matches.
Tareen said good news for fans in the Pakistan Super League is expected soon. He expressed hope that the return of spectators to stadiums would begin shortly, noting that any sport remains incomplete without its audience.
He also called for an improvement in the production quality of the PSL, stating that no sport can succeed without high production standards.
Declining to take credit for Multan Sultans’ success, he said Gohar Shah had built a strong side in a short period. He added that a team belongs to its supporters, while the owner serves only as a custodian. He recalled that at the outset no one knew whether the PSL would succeed, and said the league’s success goes to the first five franchises.
