Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has shared a shocking incident from his past, revealing that his family was forced to leave their home after receiving threats from the underworld.
According to Indian media reports, Varun Dhawan said in a recent conversation that during the 1990s, his father David Dhawan and their family received multiple threatening phone calls. As a result, they had to vacate their home immediately and relocate to a safer place.
The actor explained that such threats were common in the film industry at the time, with several celebrities facing similar situations. He recalled that the household staff reacted unusually to the calls, even engaging with the callers and revealing their home address.
In one instance, a staff member reportedly challenged the caller to come to the house, escalating the situation further. Matters became serious when another actor informed David Dhawan that the caller was threatening to arrive with a weapon, prompting the family to leave their home without delay.
Varun Dhawan said that while the story may sound amusing now, it was a deeply frightening and stressful experience for his family at the time.
