Airbnb has unveiled a new private car pick-up service, marking another step in its push to become a one-stop travel platform. The feature is rolling out across 125 cities worldwide.
Airbnb announced on Tuesday that it is introducing a private car pick-up service as part of its growing services category.
The company is partnering with Welcome Pickups to allow users to book rides in major destinations such as Paris, Bali, and Mexico City.
Once users book a stay in a city where the service is available, they will see an option in the Trips tab of the Airbnb app to schedule a private ride.
Travelers can:
- Book a car pick-up directly after confirming accommodation
- View reservation details
- Make changes within the app
This integration is designed to streamline the travel experience from arrival to check-in.
Pilot success and user feedback
Airbnb revealed that the feature has already been tested through pilot programs in Europe and Asia earlier this year.
According to the company, thousands of users tried the service, giving it an average rating of 4.96, indicating strong customer satisfaction.
Dave Stephenson, Airbnb’s Chief Business Officer, said the service is aimed at improving guest experience “from the moment they arrive.”
The car pick-up service is part of Airbnb’s broader strategy to expand beyond accommodation.
Last summer, the company introduced its services category, offering users options such as:
- Private chefs and catering
- Photography services
- Spa treatments and massages
- Personal training
- Beauty services including hair, nails, and makeup
These services were initially launched across eight countries.
Expanding partnerships and offerings
In November, Airbnb partnered with Instacart to allow guests in select U.S. cities to order groceries before and during their stay.
The company is also experimenting with hotel bookings, signaling a broader shift toward becoming a comprehensive travel platform.
During its Q4 2025 earnings call, Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky highlighted the company’s ambitions in the hotel sector, calling it a “massive opportunity.”
He noted that Airbnb aims to cater to all types of travelers, regardless of their accommodation preferences.
