Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar recently revealed that he often feels “small” when meeting highly educated individuals.
Speaking on his reality show Wheel of Fortune, the actor reflected on his own educational journey and stressed the importance of learning.
During a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune, Akshay praised contestant Sonali for her academic achievements. He admitted, “Koi bhi insaan, khaaskar mujh jaisa jo zyada padha-likha nahi hai, main kabhi-kabhi bahut chhota mehsoos karta hoon aap jaise logon ke saamne” (Any person, especially someone like me who isn't very educated, sometimes feels very small in front of people like you).
He added that at times he wishes he had studied more, but his lack of interest in reading and formal education has always held him back.
Emphasizing importance of education
Akshay urged viewers to prioritize learning, saying, “Main bas yeh kehna chahta hoon ki padho, padhna bahut zaruri hai. Mujh jaise ko follow mat karo, Sonali jaise logon ko follow karo” (I just want to say that studying is very important. Don’t follow someone like me, follow people like Sonali).
He also highlighted his admiration for his wife, author Twinkle Khanna, and candidly shared his struggles with reading: “Aap vishwas nahi karenge, maine ek bhi kitab nahi padhi hai. Jab bhi main padhne baithta hoon, pata nahi kya hota hai, aankhon se aansu nikalne lagte hain” (You will not believe it, I haven’t read even a single book. Whenever I try to read, tears start coming out of my eyes).
Upcoming projects
On the professional front, Akshay Kumar is set to star in Priyadarshan’s upcoming film Bhoot Bangla, alongside Wamiqa Gabbi. Fans are eagerly awaiting his next performance, which promises to bring both comedy and thrills.
