Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during his one-day official visit to China.
He was warmly received at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse upon his arrival for the meeting. During the talks, both leaders discussed the serious situation in the Middle East, as well as broader regional and global issues. Matters of mutual interest, including Pakistan-China relations, were also reviewed.
In addition, Dar held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The two leaders discussed the latest regional and global developments.

Hakan Fidan appreciated Pakistan’s hospitality for the recent four-nation meeting, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Türkiye.
They also agreed to maintain close contact in light of the evolving regional situation.
Dar touches down in Beijing
Earlier, Dar reached China and was welcomed by senior officials from the Chinese Foreign Ministry upon his arrival in Beijing.
According to the Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar is visiting China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi. During his one-day visit, he is scheduled to meet key Chinese officials.
Detailed consultations will be held on bilateral relations and the strategic partnership between the two countries. Ishaq Dar and Wang Yi will also discuss the regional situation and broader global affairs, the spokesperson added.

Earlier, the foreign minister had departed for the visit, defying medical advice after sustaining a shoulder fracture.
According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, this marks Dar’s second visit to China this year, reflecting ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two countries.

The visit holds added significance as Ishaq Dar chose to travel despite being unwell. Doctors had advised him to rest due to a fracture in his right shoulder, but he decided to proceed with the trip against medical advice.
Iran to be on agenda
China’s foreign ministry has stated that the situation in Iran will be a key topic of discussion between the two foreign ministers.
Officials noted that Pakistan and China share similar positions on major international and regional issues, highlighting the importance of coordination on evolving geopolitical developments.
This visit underscores the continued close ties between Pakistan and China, with both countries maintaining regular high-level engagements. The discussions are expected to further strengthen cooperation and alignment on key regional challenges.

Meanwhile, China has reaffirmed its shared stance with Pakistan on global conflicts, calling for peace and restraint as tensions over Iran continue to escalate.
At a press briefing in Beijing, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said China and Pakistan hold the same position on major global disputes. She emphasized that both countries believe in peace and justice and are committed to playing a role in promoting peace and ending war.
The spokesperson confirmed that the foreign ministers of Pakistan and China will discuss the situation in Iran during their meeting. These discussions are expected to focus on regional stability and evolving geopolitical tensions.
