Iran has called on Saudi Arabia to remove US troops from its territory following a recent missile attack on an American base. The statement comes amid escalating regional tensions involving Iran, the US, and Israel.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has urged Saudi Arabia to “eject” US forces from the kingdom. In a post on social media platform X, he said Iran respects Saudi Arabia and considers it a “brotherly nation,” but stressed that foreign troops should leave.
Araghchi reiterated that Iran’s attacks in the region are directed only at “enemy aggressors.”
“Our operations are aimed at enemy aggressors who have no respect for Arabs or Iranians, nor can provide any security,” he said, adding, “High time to eject US forces.”

Our operations are aimed at enemy aggressors who have no respect for Arabs or Iranians, nor can provide any security. Just look at what we did to their aerial command.

The statement follows a recent Iranian missile strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj, about 128 kilometres southeast of Riyadh. According to reports, the attack injured 12 US service members, including two with serious injuries and 10 suffering concussions.
Military damage at air base
The strike also caused damage to US military assets at the base.
Several refueling aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles were reportedly hit, while images suggested that a US Air Force E-3 Sentry aircraft was severely damaged, with its tail section destroyed and radar dome dislodged.
The United States and Saudi Arabia share a long-standing partnership spanning more than 80 years. There are currently five US military bases in Saudi Arabia, hosting approximately 2,700 American personnel.
Iran continues attacks during conflict
Iran has repeatedly launched attacks in Saudi Arabia during its ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel. These actions have raised concerns over regional stability and the potential for further escalation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that Russian forces may have assisted Iran by sharing satellite intelligence prior to the attack. He stated that Russian involvement was certain, suggesting full cooperation in providing information to Iran.
US response remains limited
A spokesperson for the Pentagon declined to comment on intelligence-related matters following the reports. Officials have so far confirmed injuries and damage but have not provided further operational details.
The latest developments highlight growing tensions in the Middle East, with increasing military activity and diplomatic friction. Iran’s call for the removal of US forces signals a potential shift in regional dynamics, as the conflict continues to unfold.
