Qatar has revealed that its armed forces successfully thwarted nearly 90% of recent attacks, underscoring its defense strength amid rising regional tensions.
The Gulf nation also voiced support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to promote peace.
During a press briefing, the spokesperson of Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said the country’s strategic defense partnership with the United States played a key role in ensuring security. He stated that Qatar’s armed forces managed to foil almost 90% of the attacks, demonstrating that the country is “not an easy target.”
Qatar not part of US-Iran mediation
The spokesperson clarified that Qatar is not currently participating in any mediation process between the United States and Iran. He emphasized that Doha’s primary focus at this stage is on defending its homeland and ensuring national security.

Support for Pakistan’s peace efforts
Qatar expressed full support for Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace in the region. The spokesperson said Qatar remains in constant contact with all relevant parties, mediators, and regional actors.
He added that there is hope Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives will succeed in achieving lasting peace and stability.
Qatar urged all sides to refrain from targeting energy infrastructure and nuclear facilities, warning of serious consequences. The spokesperson stressed that such actions could further destabilize the region and escalate tensions.

Tensions rise after Iranian attacks
Qatar acknowledged that Iranian attacks have had a damaging impact on bilateral relations between the two countries. In response, Doha has taken diplomatic measures, including expelling some Iranian diplomats.
Despite the strained ties, the spokesperson said Qatar remains open to finding ways to work together with Iran in the future. However, he noted that dragging Qatar into the conflict has created significant tension.
Qatar reiterated its opposition to any further escalation in the region. Officials warned that increasing tensions would only lead to greater damage for all parties involved.
