Poonam Pandey stirred social media on March 31 by posting pictures seemingly showing a baby bump, announcing what appeared to be her first pregnancy.
The announcement sparked excitement among fans, though many speculated it could be another publicity stunt.
The following day, Poonam clarified the situation with a video on her Instagram account, revealing that the baby bump was, in fact, an April Fool’s joke.
Addressing her followers, she said the prank was intended to entertain people during stressful times, referencing the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
“Guys, thank you so much for your lovely wishes. Lekin main pregnant nahi hoon… aaj April Fool’s Day hai, yeh sirf ek prank tha. War chal raha hai, poori duniya stress mein hai, toh maine socha tum logon ko thoda entertain karta hoon,” she explained, adding lightheartedly that fans shouldn’t take life too seriously.
This is not the first time Poonam Pandey has made headlines with controversial stunts. In 2024, she faked her own death on Instagram to raise awareness about cervical cancer, only to reveal it the next day as a publicity move aimed at promoting the cause—a move that drew widespread criticism.
Poonam recently appeared on the reality show Lock Upp, hosted by Kangana Ranaut, where Munawar Faruqui was crowned the winner.
