Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said Pakistan is effectively managing the supply and demand of essential commodities despite global challenges.
Amid global economic uncertainty and rising prices, Pakistan is working to maintain stability at home. Prime Minister Sharif expressed confidence in the country’s response during a high-level review meeting.
Addressing a meeting on preventing the impact of regional tensions, the PM said many countries are struggling to balance the supply and demand of essential commodities.
“Alhamdulillah, Pakistan is resolving this difficult situation with great success and efficiency,” he stated. He praised all institutions for taking timely and effective steps to prevent any emergency in the availability of essential goods.
The prime minister termed the coordinated efforts of institutions as commendable. He noted that proactive measures have ensured stability in the supply chain despite the challenging global environment.
The meeting was informed that the economic impact of the current situation is being reviewed on a daily basis as per the prime minister’s instructions.
Exports after meeting domestic needs
Shehbaz said progress is being made on a comprehensive strategy to export sufficient quantities of food items after fulfilling domestic requirements.
He emphasized that Pakistan will continue to move forward with a determined approach to ensure economic stability, development, and public welfare.
The premier directed authorities to formulate a comprehensive medium- and long-term strategy to address the economic and financial impacts of rising global prices. He stressed that the strategy should take into account the stability and development of all sectors of the economy.

In the context of the global economic crisis, Shehbaz Sharif instructed officials to propose effective measures to minimize the impact of rising production costs on exports and gross domestic product.
He highlighted the importance of maintaining economic resilience amid international market pressures.
Utilising resources to protect key sectors
The PM directed that all available resources and opportunities be fully utilized to prevent negative impacts on agricultural and industrial production. He emphasized safeguarding these sectors to ensure continued economic growth and stability.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Shehbaz Sharif said all necessary steps will continue to be taken for public welfare and the country’s economic development.
