Pakistan has officially launched 5G services, yet many users of high-end smartphones, including iPhones and Samsung devices, are unable to access the network, sources reveal.
According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the reason for the delay is technical and regulatory. Global mobile companies activate 5G only after approving each country’s network. Currently, Apple and Samsung have not yet added Pakistan to their “country whitelisting” for 5G, which is why the service cannot be enabled on their devices.
In contrast, many Chinese smartphone brands already support 5G in Pakistan. PTA officials confirmed that once Apple and Samsung complete the certification process, 5G will automatically become available on compatible devices.
The regulatory authority, telecom operators, and smartphone companies are actively coordinating to finalize approvals. Sources expect iPhone and Samsung users in Pakistan to have access to 5G soon.
