Pakistan and China have unveiled a joint five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace in the Middle East during Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s official visit to Beijing.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to China has resulted in key diplomatic developments. From regional peace efforts to bilateral cooperation, both countries signaled stronger alignment on major global issues.
Dar visited Beijing at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, where the two leaders held detailed talks. According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, the meeting was marked by traditional warmth and goodwill.
The discussions focused on regional developments in West Asia as well as bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.
5-point peace initiative for Middle East
A major outcome of the visit was the launch of a five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and the broader Middle East.
According to the Chinese Foreign Office spokesperson, the plan includes key elements such as ceasefire, dialogue, and security. Both sides also stressed the supremacy of the United Nations Charter while addressing ongoing conflicts in the region.
During the meeting, both foreign ministers expressed deep concern over the serious socio-economic impact of ongoing tensions on developing countries.

Chinese officials noted that the effects of the month-long Iran-related conflict are spreading across the region. They emphasized that the current situation is not in the interest of regional stability or the wider international community.
Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts
Dar briefed the Chinese side on Pakistan’s efforts to resolve disputes and restore dialogue in the region. He also shared details of a recent meeting involving the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Egypt.
The Chinese foreign minister appreciated Pakistan’s active diplomatic role and extended full support for its efforts.
Both sides expressed satisfaction over the growing progress in Pakistan-China bilateral relations. They emphasised the need to enhance development cooperation, strategic coordination, and high-level exchanges under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC-II).
The discussions reflected a shared commitment to deepening long-term partnership.
Focus on Afghanistan and regional security
The foreign ministers also discussed the situation in Afghanistan. Both countries stressed the importance of peace, stability, and effective counter-terrorism efforts in the region. They agreed to maintain regular contact to coordinate on regional and global developments.
The Chinese Foreign Office highlighted that both Pakistan and China hold important positions among countries of the Global South. Officials said the two nations are actively working to build consensus within the international community.
