Pakistan has experienced notable rises in the cost of living over the past year, according to a recent report from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.
Transport fares increased by 12.49 percent, while food and beverage prices rose by 3.55 percent compared to the previous year. Interestingly, perishable items became 6.91 percent cheaper over the same period.
Housing and utility costs, including electricity, gas, and water, climbed by 11.50 percent, adding further pressure on household budgets.
Clothing and footwear prices also rose by 5.80 percent, while the cost of education surged by more than 9 percent. Restaurant and hotel charges increased by 5.12 percent, and healthcare services became 7.36 percent more expensive annually.
The report underscores the broad impact of inflation on everyday expenses, affecting both essential services and lifestyle-related costs across the country.
