Bassam Karanouh, partner of Dubai's Caballero Foods Company, recently visited the agricultural and livestock farms of FonGrow in Khanewal. The visit aimed to explore the sustainable supply chain in the global meat market and promote mutual trade between Pakistan and Gulf countries.
The delegation was informed that FonGrow Agri is a unique company in livestock with a mission to secure national food, explore import substitution, and open new avenues for exports. To improve exports, FonGrow is enhancing livestock breeds and increasing the value of agricultural commodities, benefiting the common farmer.
FonGrow's advanced laboratories utilize In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) techniques to fertilize cattle sperm outside the uterus, resulting in multiple offspring from a single healthy animal's ovum. This technology allows farmers to obtain embryos of their choice from cattle.
The visit highlighted the significant agricultural improvements achieved through various projects of the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), which is leading to a second green revolution in Pakistan under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
