Promising young batsman Shamyl Hussain struck a fine half-century, while Hasan Nawaz also reached the landmark, as Quetta Gladiators secured their first victory with a comprehensive 40-run win over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the fifth match of the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday.
Abrar Ahmed produced a notable spell with the ball to complement the batting effort, ensuring Quetta’s command of the contest.

According to details, Hyderabad Kingsmen, the new entrants in the league, have endured successive defeats. They were earlier beaten by Lahore Qalandars by 69 runs and have now suffered another loss, this time by 40 runs against Quetta Gladiators.
Quetta Gladiators posted 174 for eight in their allotted 20 overs. Shamyl Hussain led the innings with 54 off 41 balls, while Hasan Nawaz contributed 53 from 40 deliveries. Tom Curran added a brisk 31 late in the innings. Riley Meredith claimed three wickets for Hyderabad Kingsmen, while Maheesh Theekshana took two.
In reply, Hyderabad Kingsmen were restricted to 134 for eight in 20 overs. Irfan Khan top-scored with 33, while Hassan Khan made 31. Abrar Ahmed led the bowling effort with three wickets, supported by Ahmed Daniyal’s two.
