Tech giant Samsung has introduced a more affordable alternative to its flagship lineup, unveiling the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 for 2026.
The new devices aim to deliver premium-like features, including AI tools and long-term software support, at a lower price point.
While the ultra-premium Galaxy S26 dominates headlines, Samsung’s A-series continues to focus on value-for-money devices.
The newly announced Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37 will officially launch on April 10. Both phones bring the company’s “Awesome Intelligence” — commonly known as Galaxy AI — to more accessible price points.
Shared features across both models
Both smartphones come equipped with large 6.7-inch displays featuring a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
They also pack 5,000mAh batteries, which Samsung claims can last up to two days on a single charge. The devices are built to last, offering an upgraded IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.
In a major boost for longevity, Samsung is promising six generations of OS upgrades along with six years of security updates, potentially extending usability well into the 2030s.
The new Galaxy A-series phones will face strong competition from rivals like the Google Pixel 10a and the iPhone 17e.
Both competing devices have already raised expectations in the sub-£500 segment, especially with features like wireless charging — something Samsung’s new models lack.
Galaxy A57 5G
The Galaxy A57 5G leads the lineup, featuring a refined design with a slimmer and lighter body compared to its predecessor.
It runs on the new Exynos 1680 processor, offering improved CPU and graphics performance along with a significant 42% boost in neural processing for AI tasks.
The added AI power enables features like voice transcription, enhanced “Best Face” for group photos, and an upgraded “Circle to Search” tool that can identify multiple objects in one image.
While the camera hardware remains the same — a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro — Samsung says improvements in image processing will deliver better low-light shots and faster shutter speeds.
Starting at £529 with 256GB storage, the A57 is positioned as a strong mid-range contender.
Galaxy A37 5G
The Galaxy A37 5G is designed for users seeking affordability without sacrificing essential features. Powered by the Exynos 1480 chip, it delivers a 167% improvement in AI performance compared to its predecessor.
This enables features like AI object eraser, live voice translation, and an upgraded conversational Bixby assistant.
To keep the price at £399, Samsung has made a few compromises.
The ultrawide camera drops to 8MP, and the device lacks Wi-Fi 6E support found in the A57. Additionally, its display brightness peaks at 1,900 nits, compared to 3,000 nits on the Pixel 10a.
However, the 50MP main camera now features larger pixels, which should improve low-light photography.
