The visit holds added significance as Ishaq Dar chose to travel despite being unwell. Doctors had advised him to rest due to a fracture in his right shoulder, but he decided to proceed with the trip against medical advice.
Discussions on bilateral and global issues
During the visit, Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi are expected to hold talks on bilateral, regional, and global matters. The Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed that issues of mutual interest will also be discussed during the meetings.
Iran to be on agenda
China’s foreign ministry has stated that the situation in Iran will be a key topic of discussion between the two foreign ministers.
Officials noted that Pakistan and China share similar positions on major international and regional issues, highlighting the importance of coordination on evolving geopolitical developments.
This visit underscores the continued close ties between Pakistan and China, with both countries maintaining regular high-level engagements. The discussions are expected to further strengthen cooperation and alignment on key regional challenges.
