US President Donald Trump has suggested that the ongoing US military campaign against Iran could wrap up in as little as two to three weeks. Speaking to reporters, he claimed that key objectives, including limiting Iran’s nuclear capabilities, have been achieved.
Trump stated that US airstrikes against Iran, conducted in coordination with Israel last month, have largely accomplished their mission. “We’ve achieved our goals before the airstrikes began,” he said, adding that US forces now dominate Iranian skies.
The president also claimed that senior Iranian political and military leaders have been removed, resulting in a new leadership he described as “much less radicalized” and “more rational” than their predecessors.
Trump suggested that Iranian leaders are eager to negotiate a deal, though he noted that the war could end without a formal agreement. He also connected the conclusion of military operations to global economic effects, stating that fuel prices would decrease once the US ends its actions.
Rubio confirms diplomatic progress
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed a cautiously optimistic tone, confirming that the US is exchanging messages with Iran. “There are talks going on…we can see the finish line,” Rubio told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

Rubio added that while the US remains open to direct meetings, it will not allow “fake negotiations” to delay progress. He also criticized NATO, suggesting the US may need to reassess the alliance’s relevance to its strategic interests.
