Meta, the technology company behind Facebook and WhatsApp, is developing a new premium subscription service for Instagram that will allow users to view other people’s Stories anonymously.
The Instagram Plus membership will initially be available to users in Mexico, Japan, and the Philippines, with a local monthly fee of approximately $1 to $2. Subscribers will also be able to see how many people have viewed their Stories multiple times.
Additional features include an animated “Super Like” reaction for Stories and the ability to extend the duration that a Story remains available, giving users more control over reach and engagement.
Meta is also exploring paywall features for its other apps, signaling a broader push toward premium services across its platforms.
