The social media platform X was restored on Thursday afternoon after experiencing a short-lived global outage that affected users in multiple countries.
Around 12pm, internet monitoring service NetBlocks reported widespread international disruptions on the platform, clarifying that the issue was not linked to country-specific internet restrictions or filtering.
Data from Downdetector showed a surge in complaints from users in Pakistan shortly after midday, with reported issues peaking at 189. Approximately half of the users cited problems with the platform’s timeline, while others reported difficulties accessing the app.
By approximately 12:45pm, reports from Pakistan had dropped sharply to just two, indicating that services were largely restored.
A similar trend was observed in the United States, where user complaints fell below 200 after earlier spiking to nearly 31,700 within a short period.
This marks the second such disruption in recent days, as the platform, owned by Elon Musk, also experienced a brief outage impacting thousands of users globally on March 18.
