Multan Sultans commenced their Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 campaign with a commanding win over Islamabad United in the fourth match of the tournament at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday.
Islamabad United managed 171 for eight in their allotted 20 overs. Devon Conway scored 26 off 23 balls, while Mark Chapman contributed 40 from 21 deliveries. Faheem Ashraf also made a notable 26 runs. Momin Qamar claimed three wickets, while Mohammad Wasim took two.
In reply, Multan Sultans reached 175 for five in 18.4 overs. Josh Philippe led the innings with 55 from 35 balls, supported by Ashton Turner’s 43 not out. Arafat Minhas added 25 runs. Shadab Khan and Salman Irshad took two wickets each for Islamabad United.
The victory marked a confident start for Multan Sultans under their new-look squad, signalling strong intent in the opening stages of the PSL season.
