Maya Ali has sparked conversation after speaking out against artists criticizing their own colleagues publicly. Her message comes amid rising debate within Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
Taking to Instagram on March 29, Maya Ali shared a strong message about the lack of support within the industry.
“When will we start respecting our own talent, our actors, our stars?” she wrote, questioning the growing trend of public criticism.
She added that many artists dedicate their lives to their craft, yet face negativity from within the same industry.
‘Voices from within’ under fire
The Teefa in Trouble actress expressed disappointment that criticism often comes from insiders rather than outsiders.
“The saddest part is, it's not outsiders pulling them down. It's often voices from within our own industry doing it publicly on big platforms,” she stated.
Her remarks highlighted concerns about public platforms being used to target fellow artists.
Maya Ali also emphasized faith and destiny, stating that everyone’s success is written by Allah.
She urged her peers to adopt a more supportive approach, saying, “Let’s stop pulling each other down. Let’s stand for one another.”
She further added, “Aaj koi aur hai,” implying that anyone could face similar criticism in the future.
Appeal to media channels
In her message, Maya also addressed media outlets directly.
She requested channels to verify information before broadcasting and to use their platforms responsibly when discussing individuals.
The Instagram story gained further traction after being reshared by Hania Aamir.
This amplified the message, bringing wider attention to the issue within the entertainment community.
Although Maya Ali did not name anyone, her statement comes amid backlash involving Javeria Saud.
The senior actress faced criticism over alleged age-shaming remarks about Yumna Zaidi during an Eid show on Express TV.
Many viewers interpreted her comments as a personal dig at Yumna, sparking debate online.
Yumna Zaidi later addressed the issue on social media.
She clarified that a childhood photo shown during the show was not hers, indirectly responding to the controversy.
